Secara praktis, kita rasakan ketika dimintai data diri untuk suatu keperluan dengan kedinasan. Bila belum ada daftar riwayat hidup maka kita harus mencari dan membuka tiap dokumen yang berkaitan dengan data yang diminta. Cukup melelahkan, bukan?
Dengan adanya daftar riwayat hidup, data diri kita dari berbagai dokumen sudah terangkum dalam struktur yang rapi sehingga memudahkan kita dalam mencari dan menyalinnya.
Secara baku, pengertian dan fungsi dari daftar riwayat hidup diungkapkan oleh Wikipedia berbahasa Indonesia sebagai berikut:
Curriculum vitae (CV; juga ditulis curriculum vitæ) atau daftar riwayat hidup adalah dokumen yang memberikan gambaran mengenai pengalaman sesorang dan kualifikasi lainnya. Di beberapa negara, suatu CV biasanya merupakan hal utama yang dijumpai seorang majikan potensial tentang pencari kerja dan sering digunakan untuk menyaring aplikan (orang-orang yang melamar kerja secara daring) ketika mencari pekerjaan, biasanya dilanjutkan dengan wawancara.
Lalu, bagaimana cara membuat dokumen daftar riwayat hidup dengan $\small\LaTeX$?
Untuk hal ini $\small\LaTeX$ telah menyediakan beberapa kelas dokumen yang dapat kita gunakan. Untuk contoh kali ini saya memilih salah satunya, yaitu moderncv. Kelas dokumen karya dari Xavier Danaux ini menyediakan fasilitas untuk mengatur susunan daftar riwayat hidup modern, baik dalam gaya klasik maupun casual, dan dapat disesuaikan, sehingga memungkinkan Anda untuk menentukan gaya Anda sendiri dengan mengubah warna, huruf, dll.
- Kolom pertama, yang berisi rincian unsur-unsur data dirasakan (dalam contoh asalnya) terlalu sempit. Ini dapat diatasi dan mengaturnya dengan perintah

assalamu alaikum.... maaf mengganggu, saya sedang menyusun tesis dlm program texmaker (latex) , namun banyak kendala yg sya hadapi... semoga bapak bisa membantu, yg ingin saya tanyakan hanya 1 (sya sdh sering googling n baca buku panduan tpi blm ketemu solusix pdhl sngat simpel) yaitu cara untuk membuat tabel dengan menggabungkan antara baris dan kolom, misalnya baris 1 - 2 dan kolom 1 - 2 di gabungkan... kalau hanya utk menggabungkan kolom kan perintahx cukup \multicolumn ....., utk multi baris jugademkian \multirow.... , namun utk menggabungkan baris dan kolom yg lebih dari 1 baris dan kolom..
demikian pertanyaan simpel sya, semoga bapak bersedia membantu...
